International Mathematical Olympiad 1997 (Mar del Plata, Argentina) Scores

At the 1997 IMO held in Mar del Plata, Argentina, 460 contestants from 82 countries competed. 39 gold medals were awarded to those scoring at least 35; 70 silver medals were awarded to those scoring from 25 to 34; and 122 bronze medals were awarded to those scoring from 15 to 24.

The maximum individual score possible was 42 (which 4 contestants attained). The mean individual score was 16.065, with a standard deviation of 11.199. The following table shows how many contestants attained each possible score.
